2022 Festival of Arts preview: Rob Kaz unveils new paintings
Artist Rob Kaz will be one of the nearly three dozen artists who you will be able to meet during the 2022 EPCOT International Festival of the Arts taking place Jan. 14 through Feb. 21.
A New Jersey native, Kaz decided to head to college away from the cold and snowy winters of the Garden State to the University of Central Florida where he studied – you guessed it – criminal justice. He eventually wanted to work in federal law enforcement, but life got in the way.
The owner of small animation gallery had purchased his parents home and during the sale, the owner saw his work and hired him on the spot as a color key. One thing led to another with hm working in small studios and eventually as a character artist for Electronic Arts where he worked on NCAA Football games. His art work grew and popularity grew, and in addition to painting Disney and Star Wars art he has his own original characters in the Friends Along The Way featuring Beau and his Friends.
(Full disclosure here, I am a big fan of his work and have saved up those gift cards to head on over and fill an empty wall with one of the new pieces below. For those who have never gone to the festival, there are usually a variety of sizes and price points.)
Here’s a look at some of the new art work he will be displaying during the festival. (Here’s the full schedule of when and where to find the artists.)
