Photos: EPCOT construction around Spaceship Earth

A recent tour of the monorail provides a good update as to how the construction area on the other side of Spaceship Earth in EPCOT is progressing.

The construction taking place is in the World Celebration and World Nature sections of EPCOT. For those who have forgotten, EPCOT is now divided into four areas instead of two. There is World Showcase, and the old “Future World” was divided into World Nature, World Celebration and World Discovery.

In the World Discovery area the Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind is being built, but the largest swath under construction is still in the World Celebration and part of World Nature area.

In the World Celebration work is underway for a new quick-service restaurant, landscaping and Dreamers Point, which will have lush gardens, a wishing tree, an interactive new fountain and a new statue celebrating the legacy of the original dreamer, Walt Disney.

In the World Nature area we are awaiting the Journey of Water, Inspired by “Moana.”  This first-ever experience inspired by the Walt Disney Animation Studios hit film will let guests interact with magical, living water in a beautiful and inspiring setting.
