The Book of Boba Fett gets Disney+ premiere date

Disney will open “The Book of Boba Fett” at the close of this year. The spinoff of “The Mandalorian” will debut on the streaming service on Wednesday, Dec. 29.

The spinoff series was teased at the end of “The Mandalorian” season 2 in a post-credits scene that found Boba Fett (Temuera Morrison) taking the throne at Jabba the Hutt’s palace, with Fennec Shand (Ming-Na Wen) by his side. The series follows the two as they try to stake their claim to the territory once ruled by Jabba the Hutt and his crime syndicate.

“The Book of Boba Fett” is one of about 10 Star Wars series Disney plans for their streaming service. In addition, An Obi-Wan Kenobi series is set to film late this year, and a series based on the “Rogue One” character Cassian Andor is expected to drop on Disney+ next year. After that, look for two more series set within the timeline of “The Mandalorian”: “The Rangers of the New Republic” and “Ahsoka Tano.”
