Mickey’s PhilharMagic closing for a month to add new ‘Coco’ scene, refurbishments

A new animated scene based on Disney-Pixar’s “Coco” and other refurbishments are coming to Mickey’s PhilharMagic at Magic Kingdom.

Starting Oct. 11 through Nov. 11, 2021, the attraction will be closed for refurbishment and will reopen on Nov. 12. This is the first time Disney and Pixar animators have worked combining characters from both animation studios together on screen. Donald Duck search’s for Mickey’s Sorcerer’s hat through various Disney film scenes. Other refurbishments will also be taking place.

This is the first new musical sequence in almost 20 years.

This is a brand new sequence was created at Pixar Animation Studios using the original assets of the film but was not in the actual movie. That sequence was then merged with Donald Duck, who is the thread that weaves this tapestry of songs, and was created by Walt Disney Animation Studios, Roger Gould, Creative Director Pixar Animation Studios/Walt Disney Animation Studios, said.

The musical number “Un Poco Loco” will anchor the new scene, which was added to Disney California Adventure park and Disneyland Paris versions on July 17.
