Main Street Cinema turning into 50th-anniversary Vault Collection location
The Main Street Cinema, which has been the temporary location for the sweets and treats at the Main Street Confectionery gets its makeover will be the new location for special 50th anniversary merchandise, specifically from the Vault Collection.
The Main Street Confectionery reopens on Sept. 29 and since the sweet and treats are no longer needed the Main Street Cinema is now closed and getting its small makeoever.
For Walt Disney World’s The World’s Most Magical Celebration honoring the 50th anniversary of Disney World, the Main Street Cinema will host the Vault Collection starting Oct. 1, 2021. Other 50th anniversary merchandise will be available in other locations, but Main Street Cinema will appopriately hold the retro-theme collection.
The Vault Collection is made up of two main categories:
- “Replica” – Looking to the 1970s for those key souvenirs re-created for this celebration.
- “Inspired By” – Taking cues from the retro art and styles over the decades, this is a collection of modern and relevant items that are popular.
In addition to the collection coming to the Magic Kingdom. It will also be available in the Marketplace Co-op at Disney Springs (in place of the Disney Cruise shop) and some select items will appear on shopDisney.com as well.
