Inside look at the 20th Haunted Mansion Holiday Gingerbread House

This year is the 20th time the Haunted Mansion at Disneyland has been taken over by Jack Skellington from “Tim Burton’s the Nightmare Before Christmas” and transformed into the Haunted Mansion Holiday,

Jack, Sally, Zero and other characters have let the 999 Happy Haunts take a little vacation as they all moved into the mansion for Halloween and Christmas. (The overlay will stay from  Sept. 3, 2021 through Jan. 9, 2022.

Inside the hall and at the centerpiece of the grand table is the latest gingerbread creation. For 20 years a gingerbread house has been placed in the mansion. This year is no different, but this gingerbread house pays homage to all previous houses.

According to Disney, the Central Bakery team spent hundreds of hours baking and decorating the nearly 13-foot house (the biggest ever) in five main pieces. They were then carefully moved into the mansion, where they were assembled on the ballroom’s dining table.

This gingerbread house is made of approximately 30 pounds of gingerbread, three gallons of egg whites, 120 pounds of frosting and icing, 75 pounds of confectioner’s sugar, 140 pounds of fondant and more than a pound of glitter to make the mini mansion sparkly.
