First look: Medals for the 2022 Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend

The Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend is returning to live to the resort this January where four races will take place over the weekend. Marathon weekend was canceled earlier this year due to the pandemic.

The races will take place Jan. 6-9

Disney has provided a look at the finisher medals. This year’s event themes highlight Mickey Mouse and friends, all donning their EARidescent best to help celebtate the resort’s 50th anniversary.

As of now, the 5K, 10K and Half Marathon are sold out. There is still room for the Marathon and for virtual races.

Here are what the medals look like:

This year’s Walt Disney World 5K medal features a Pluto-sized medal.

Oswald the Lucky Rabbit will be joining runners for the second event of the weekend, the Walt Disney World 10K. Watch Oswald hop along as he slides from left to right on the medal.

The Walt Disney World Half Marathon  finisher medal highlights Donald and Daisy Duck. Show off both Donald and Daisy with this medal that spins from the middle.

Rounding out the magical miles-filled weekend are the hosts Mickey and Minnie Mouse in the Walt Disney World Marathon finisher medal.

Runners taking on both the Walt Disney World Half and full Marathon in a 39.3-mile adventure will receive another medal as part of the Goofy Challenge.

Runners planning on participating in all four races, for a total of 48.6 miles, will receive a Dopey Challenge Challenge medal.
