First look: Main Street projections for new ‘Disney Enchantment’ fireworks show

When “Disney Enchantment” kicks off on Oct. 1 at Magic Kingdom it will introduce something brand new to the Magic Kingdom fireworks show — projections along Main Street, U.S.A.

Now, while there have been some projections along the main park entrance corridor, they have usually taken place during Halloween or the Christmas holidays. This will be the first time there will be a coordinated effort with the nighttime fireworks show.

This is not the first time a Disney park’s Main Street has had projections with a fireworks show. Mickey’s Mix Magic which debuted at Disneyland in 2019 as part of Get Your Ears On – A Mickey and Minnie Celebration, had 14 video projectors along Main Street.

In the video stills from the video, which is below, we can see some of the projections that will be part of this new show. “Disney Enchantment” is created to inspire all to believe in magic, with Disney music, enhanced lighting, and immersive projection effects that extend – for the first time – from Cinderella Castle down Main Street, U.S.A.

According to Disney: This all-new spectacular inspires everyone to believe in magic, featuring characters, moments, and music from dozens of Disney and Pixar animated films. In the new show, the dreamers are represented by Tiana, Miguel, Rapunzel, and brothers Ian & Barley from “Onward.” The audience goes on out an incredible journey with adventurers such as Moana, Raya, and Judy Hopps. Joe Gardner from Disney and Pixar’s “Soul” takes viewers into “the zone,” to discover a whimsical world inspired by the style of legendary Disney artist Mary Blair and filled with beloved characters from classic stories like “Beauty and the Beast” and “Alice in Wonderland” to contemporary tales including “Luca” and “Wreck-It Ralph.” Everything builds to a climactic moment, as Tinker Bell takes flight, spreading shimmering gold pixie dust and empowering all to believe in ourselves and the magic all around us.

A reminder, you will be able to watch the show from home on Thursday, Sept. 30 via a live stream starting at 10:30 p.m. ET
