Enhancements coming to Disney World’s Park Pass Reservation System
Walt Disney World will be rolling out an enhanced theme park pass reservation system on Sept. 8, 2021, the same date the sale of the new annual passes goes into effect, according to the Disney World Annual Passholder page.
“In an effort to make the reservation program more seamless, on September 8, 2021, Walt Disney World Resort will introduce an enhanced theme park reservation calendar that shows booked reservations, park availability and blockout dates. All current reservations will be maintained with the ability to make and modify additional new reservations as part of the update,” the website states.
The change is being made not only to accommodate the four new passes that will be sold, but to accommodate the changes taking place in the amount of theme park reservations that can be held by current annual passholders.
Annual Passholders staying at Disney Resort hotels or other select hotels are still eligible to make theme park reservations for each day of their Resort stay(s), in addition to holding their maximum number of theme park reservations at a time on a rolling basis, according to the website.
And starting September 8, 2021, select annual passes will be able to hold more reservations at a time:
- Platinum Plus, Platinum and Gold Annual Passes: Up to 5 reservations held at a time
- Silver Pass: Up to 4 reservations held at a time
The new passes will be able to hold the following:
- Disney Pixie Dust Pass: Up to 3 reservations held at a time
- Disney Pirate Pass: Up to 4 reservations held at a time
- Disney Sorcerer Pass and Disney Incredi-Pass: Up to 5 reservations held at a time
No start date has been announced on when the new Disney Genie or Lightning Lanes will go into effect. Signs at attractions are already changing from FastPass to Lightning Lane.
