The Wave at Contemporary being renamed to Steakhouse 71

Walt Disney World has officially announced that The Wave at Disney’s Contemporary Resort will be reimagined as Steakhouse 71.

The casual dining concept gets its name from the resort’s opening year. The naming of the restaurant is taking place just as Disneyland Disney permanently closed its Steakhouse 55 at the Disneyland Resort.

No further information or timetable has been released on the opening.

In addition to the new restaurant at the Contemporary, the popular California Grill on top of the building will be unavailable for bookings after Oct. 2 for a special dining experience that will be created specifically for Walt Disney World’s 50th anniversary.
