Citricos at Grand Floridian reopening with ‘Mary Poppins Return’ on July 15
Soon, you will be able to “trip a little light fantastic” at the newly re-imagined Citricos restaurant at the Grand Floridian Resort and Spa in July.
The newly reimagined Citricos pays homage to “Mary Poppins Returns.” Taking some inspiration from the film’s animated sequence, the dining room takes guess into a fanciful garden. You experience the restaurant surrounded by the glow fro decorative lamps and chandeliers.
The restaurant reopens on July 15. You can start booking reservations on July 1.
A new menu for the location was created by Chef Andres Mendoza and includes starters like:
- Sweet Corn Bisque with pickled fennel, popcorn, and fennel oil
- A Strawberry Salad with chamomile-infused goat cheese, frisée lettuce, bacon vinaigrette, and spiced sunflower seeds.
Entrées include:
- Butter-poached Florida Cobia with mashed fingerling potatoes, grilled asparagus, and local mushrooms with a grapefruit beurre blanc
- Guava Barbequed Short Ribs with aged cheddar creamy grits, roasted poblano, curtido slaw, and Brussels sprouts
Pastry Chef Kristine Farmer created some delicious and decadent desserts, including:
- A Warm Apple Rose with seasonal apple, marzipan layers, and frozen coconut milk
- Chocolate Torte, a dark chocolate financier, dark cherry compote, and vanilla bean mascarpone cream
Sommelier Israel Perez has also revamped the wine and cocktail program. A new and exclusive Sommelier Room at Cítricos will allow Israel and his team to source boutique wines that pair with special creations from Chef Andres.
