Is Disney World about to announce the return of Halloween party nights?
Will Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party be returning to Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom this year? Stay turned for an announcement on May 7.
At least, we hope that’s what will be announced Friday morning. Disney is teasing everyone that a special announcement about Halloween will be made the morning of May 7 during a #HalfwaytoHalloween celebration and speculation is the party will be back on.
The Disney Parks Blog announced: “The #HalfwaytoHalloween fun begins tomorrow morning, May 7! Throughout the day, we’ll be sharing nothing but treats including a special announcement as well as a few ‘shriek peeks’ and some dreadfully delicious dishes. Also, we’re digging up a “mummy approved” Disney+ playlist, not-so-spooky planDisney tips, frightfully favorite Halloween wallpapers and much more.”
Last year Disney World did away with the annual party due to COVID-19 pandemic and instead, for the first time, allowed guess to wear their Halloween costumes during Magic Kingdom’s normal operating hours from Sept. 15 through Oct. 31 and had special cavalcades and events.
This year, there is anticipation that most, if not all, the physical distancing health limitation imposed by COVID-19 will be gone as the country moves to herd immunity. This would allow Disney to bring back the party. The question remains about parades, fireworks and the popular Halloween meet and greets.
If a party were to return as a separate ticketed event it would also be taking place at Walt Disney World kicks off its 50th-anniversary celebration on Oct. 1. It is unknown if by October fireworks will return and how the castle and castle projections would work with the Cinderella Castle’s new 50th-anniversary look.
There will be a lot of speculation the rest of the day and hopefully some answers tomorrow morning. Stay tuned!
