
A look at wha’s happening in April 2017 at Disney World and in the Disney Universe
A new character breakfast, retro games being reissued, new security procedures and Earth month are some of the events happening at Disney World in April and in the Disney Universe.
Here’s a look at some specific things happening:
April 2: The Bon Voyage Character Breakfast will begin April 2, 2017 and feature Disney characters such as Rapunzel, Flynn Rider, Ariel and Prince Eric. The breakfast will take place at the Trattoria al Forno at the BoardWalk Resort.
April 3: Disney World is changing where many guests will go through bag check and metal detectors to enter the Magic Kingdom. Instead of entering immediately before the ticket entrance most people will now get their bags checked and go through metal detectors at the Transportation and Ticket Center. Those driving and hen taking either the monorail or the ferry across the Seven Seas Lagoon will get checked before boarding the transportation. Those staying in Contemporary, Polynesian and Grand Floridian resorts will go through security at the resorts’ monorail stations.
April 14: A special Star Wars night event called Star Wars: Galactic Nights takes place with a special ticket price for $129. The event includes Star Wars dance parities, a celebrity chat show, special photo ops. a motorcade of Star Wars celebrities and other events.
April 18: For the nostalgic Disney gamers out there Capcom has a announced a compilation of six games that feature Disney TV characters from the 80s and 90s. The Disney Afternoon Collection will be available as a digital download across North America and Europe for $19.99 starting on April 18, 2017 on PlayStation 4 computer entertainment system, Xbox One and Windows PC.
April 21: “Born in China” is the 9th Disneynature film. This one focuses on wildlife in China, including rare footage of endangered snow leopards
April 21-23: Party for the Planet: The annual Earth Day celebration is being expanded at Animal Kingdom. Guests are encouraged to connect with nature by engaging in fun activities in every land of the park. Meet animal care experts, educators and conservation specialists to see first-hand how Disney cares for animals and works to save endangered species worldwide. Also, be on the lookout for some specially themed treats.
