Self-serve beverage service returns to Walt Disney World

When Disney World reopened last year with its COVID-19 health and safety protocols guests were not allowed to pour their own beverages from self service stations. That is now changing.

Disney has altered its policy as follows:

Self-Serve Changes: Some self-serve beverage stations—which allow for Guests to fill and refill their own beverages—are available at select quick-service restaurants located in Walt Disney World theme parks and Disney Resort hotels. Locations may vary.”

The changeover has not taken place at all locations. Guests have so far reported changes have taken place at locations in Disney’s Riviera Resort, Disney’s Art of Animation Resort, Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort and Disney’s Contemporary Resort.

The changeover comes after Disney World relaxed its policy on face mask use when taking photos. You can now remove your face mask when taking a photo as long as you social distanced from others.

Orange County Mayor Jerry Demings said this week he expects to relax the county’s mask mandate sometime this summer. The majority of Disney World is located in Orange County  Physical distancing guidelines and temperature checks could be lifted earlier than the mask mandate, he said.
