New ending for Jungle Cruise ride at Disney World, Disneyland revealed

If you have been at Disney World recently, or have seen the uproar of the removal of Trader Sam from the Jungle Cruise attraction at Magic Kingdom, we now know what is replacing him – Trader Sam’s Gift Shop.

The gift shop (or the Lost and Found) will show off the myriad of items that might have been accidentally left behind on a boat during an adventure.

The last scene of the ride depicted a native Trader Sam – the “head” salesman” of the jungle offering shrunken heads. Disney is altering the theming of the ride to address the negative depictions of natives in the attraction.

What will replace the animatronic Sam falls in line with the new cohesive theme Disney has previously announced. Here, we learn that Alberta Falls, proprietor of the Jungle Navigation Company Ltd., has entrusted her longtime friend, Trader Sam, to manage the new Lost & Found location.  But, with Trader Sam being Trader Sam, why not just turn it into a Gift Shop. After all, rides at Disney do need to end at the gift shop.

The rendering above shows a gramophone, captain’s hat, a fat, a top hat, and of course, the ability to take a Cruise Photo. As you can see, the shop workers seem to be taking their job seriously, no monkeying around.

Disney promises to provide more updates about the rest of the storyline later.
