Mears Transportation, which operated the Disney Magical Express for Walt Disney World, has announced the service’s replacement for when the Disney Magical Express ceases operation on Dec. 31, 2021.
Disney announced earlier this year that it was shuttering the free service which shuttled guests from Orlando International Airport to the various Walt Disney World resorts. Now, Mears has created a new Mears Connect service, which will debut January 2022.
“The new service is in response to overwhelming demand and inquiries by future guests to Orlando’s theme park and resort areas. We are thrilled to see the many past guests and new guests to Orlando as our hospitality and entertainement industries re-open more fully from the pandemic! The best is yet to come and we look forward to being a small part of your next Orlando vacation experience,” the company stated.
No specifics have yet been released on the how the service will work or the cost. More information will be released soon, the company said, and reservations can start being made in May. More information can be obtained at the new Mears Connect site.
In the meantime, the Disney Magical Express will cease service on Dec. 31, 2021. However, if you have reservations and arrive prior to Dec 31 and are using the Disney Magical Express the you arrive, you will be provided airport transportation back to Orlando International Airport with no additional charge.
