Photos: Innoventions West at Epcot completely torn down

Another milestone has been achieved during this major transformation of EPCOT. Innoventions West has been torn down to make way for new areas coming to the park.

The area behind Spaceship Earth has been a major construction zone for some time as Disney plans a major transformation of the theme park.

The east side of the plaza will have a major renovated MouseGear. The empty west side will be transformed to include the following:

  • Journey of Water, Inspired by Moana. This new trail will invite guests to meet and play with magical, living water. Just like Moana’s friend the ocean, water will have a personality of its own, helping guests learn how to protect the natural water cycle in a fun and engaging way.
  • A Festival area that will be home to ever-changing events “in a unique new environment.”
  • Dreamers Point. This area will also feature a new statue honoring Walt Disney. The natural environment will be filled with some Disney magic design elements including a fountain celebrating the power and music of iconic Disney storytelling. Surrounding the garden will be new retail and dining locations and a new statue of Walt Disney.
