Meet Alberta Falls, owner, manager, head mechanic of the Jungle Cruise
Disney is now providing a bigger backstory to the Jungle Cruise attraction at the Magic Kingdom and Disneyland featuring Alberta Falls, the granddaughter of world-renowned Dr. Albert Falls.
The backstory is part of the updated enhancements planned for the classic attraction. There will be several new scenes that will connect the story. Don’t worry, the skippers will still be sharing their unique point of view during the attraction.
“The new scenes will heighten our skippers’ legendary comedic tone, beginning with a trapped safari party that finds itself up a tree after their journey goes awry. Unexpected scenarios along the way will give the jungle and animals the last laugh,” according to the Disney Parks Blog.
Below is the 1938 edition for the Daily Gnus, with an interview with Alberta Falls, we find out a lot about the owner, manager, bookkeeper and head mechanic of the Jungle Navigation Company.
Alberta Falls came to Adventureland when she was 8-year-old with her mother Sneh Falls, an artist from India and Albert Falls Jr. an art historian from England. They visited her grandparents, Victoria Marie Falls, an adventuress in her own right, and her grandfather Dr. Albert Falls, a member of the famed Society of Explorers and Adventurers.
She would spend the summers with her grandmother, who helped keep the shipping company operating. Eventually, Alberts would go on adventures with her grandfather.
After her grandfather mysteriously disappeared, Alberta inherited the company. The business started to falter as the search continued for her grandfather and one option was to start offering “Jungle Cruises” to tourists visiting Adventureland.
