Inside the new Moana-themed rooms at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort
Disney has provided us a first look at the new Moana-themed rooms at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort.
The resort is undergoing a major transformation, including the Monorail station, the Great Ceremonial House and the rooms. The Great Ceremonial House and guest rooms are moving toward the Pacific Ocean-inspired color palette as well as details, patterns and textures from Disney’s film “Moana.
We received a look inside from Zach Riddley, Walt Disney World Site Portfolio Executive, Walt Disney Imagineering.
Troughout these rooms you can discover patterns and design details inspired by “Moana”. Look closely and you might even spot some characters from the story or the heart of Te Fiti, Riddley said.
There are new furnishings and fixtures. throughout the room. The colorful patterns are meant to evoking undulating ocean waves and tropical flowers.
In the bathroom, Disney Imagineers took inspiration from the sandy ocean floor for the tiles and carved details in the vanity.
In the meantime, construction on Great Ceremonial House’s porte cochere when complete will feature a high-pitched, open-truss roof covered in a thatch style with pops of color. Above the porte cochere, the Monorail station is receiving new wooden screens with tropical colors, adding to the open and airy vibe befitting of the South Seas.
Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort is now accepting bookings for late July 2021.
