First look: New nighttime view of Chinese Theatre at Hollywood Studios

Disney is bringing a new nighttime appearance to the famed Chinese Theatre at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

This includes the return of spotlights searching the sky as the theatre welcomes guests to the premiere of the latest Mickey Mouse short at Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway, Walt Disney World Site Portfolio Executive Zach Riddley said on Instagram.

The new nighttime appearance features bright gold accents, all-new energy-efficient LED lighting., Riddley said.

“This is a culmination of years of work by our teams to bring ‘premiere night, every night’ energy to this iconic golden age of Hollywood architecture. I love when our teams are able use their unique skills to enhance the stories within our parks and this definitely showcases what our Imagineers ingenuity,” Riddley said.

This is different from the enhancement coming for the Disney World’s 50th anniversary starting Oct. 1. That change will have The Hollywood Tower Hotel “awash in a brilliance evoking the golden age of imagination and adventure.”
