5 fun garden facts about the Flower & Garden Festival

Spring is in the air. The gardens have been planted and all the topiaries are in place at The Taste of EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival.

Continuing for 125 days, until July 5, 2021, the park features nearly 100 individual topiaries, including many Disney characters and 20 different gardens.

Here are five fun facts about the plantings:

1. The Taste of Epcot International Flower & Garden Festival encompasses more than 300 acres and more than a mile and half of gardens.

2. Goofy, standing 14 feet tall is made up of three separate pieces – his pants, shirt and head.

3. Over 140 Floating Gardens adorn Future World’s East & West Lake. Fifty 4-inch annuals are planted in one floating garden.

4. More than 350 containers have been placed in Italy for the container display. At nearly 20 feet long it is composed of over 650 succulent plants.

5. At nearly 20 feet long, the Dragon topiary is the longest topiary at Disney World. The Dragon is composed of roughly 650 plants, over 400 of them are bromeliods.
