Spring is coming to the Walt Disney World Resort and that means not only more crowds (even with 35% coronavirus capacity cap at the parks and physical distancing it will feel crowded), but a festival, the reopening of a water park, more character dining and the return of another resort.
Here’s what’s coming and what to look forward to this March.
March 3: The Taste of EPCOT International Flower and Garden Festival kicks off and lasts through July 5. Dotting the landscape will be over 40 topiaries and 20 gardens sprinkled around the park, including Mickey, Donald and friends, Remy, Anna & Elsa, Lady & the Tramp, Figment and a host of others.
The festival also features over 20 exclusive Outdoor Kitchens with 56 new food and beverage items on the menu. In addition, each weekend there will be a series of concerts featuring local bands from Orlando, also known as the “City Beautiful.” Friday through Monday evenings, these “City Beautiful” bands will take the stage at America Gardens Theatre to perform popular songs of yesterday and today.
March 7: Blizzard Beach reopens. Disney’s Blizzard Beach Water Park reopens, the first Disney water park to reopen since the coronavirus pandemic started. The park will operate in alignment with the health and safety protocols implemented throughout Walt Disney World Resort.
March 19: The Egg-stravaganza Scavenger Hunt returns to EPCOT. Decorative eggs inspired by Disney characters are placed around the theme park. You can purchase a map to help you on your search. Once you’re done, return the completed map for a sp-egg-tacular surprise.
March 22: Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort reopens. This is the third Value Resort to reopen since Disney World started its phased reopening in July. The resort salutes the legends of Disney films—from the dotted pups of 101 Dalmatians to the playful toys of Andy’s Room— with whimsical, larger-than-life décor. More details on the reopening should be released in the next week by Disney.
March 22: Character dining returns to Disney’s Hollywood Studios. The Hollywood & Vine breakfast returns. The characters will be around for the meal containing a sharable pastry basket for the table and your choice of breakfast entrée, such as French toast stuffed with chocolate-hazelnut spread or all-you-care-to-enjoy pancakes made with our signature house-made batter.
