3 new ways to see Disney characters at Hollywood Studios
Disney has introduced a trio of new Disney Character interactions at Disney’s Hollywood Studios and they are some of the best ways to spend a few minutes with some of your favorite characters.
All are located in the area at the end of Hollywood Boulevard toward the Chinese Theater and feature Donald Duck, Pluto and Chip ‘n’ Dale. Many of these have been happening a few minutes after each other when we visited recently and started after 11 a.m. after the first cavalcade came down the road way.
Chip ‘n’ Dale picnic
In the grassy area in front of the Brown Derby, Chip ‘n’ Dale walk out with a picnic basket, pull a blanket out of the basket and set up an area to start their picnic. The comic duo then pull out something special from their basket, acorns, before walking the perimeter of the garden to wave, pose for photos and enjoy a day out frolicking.
Donald Duck gardens
Donald Duck comes out to help the flowers grow and keep the bees away.
While facing the Chinese Theater, at the end of Hollywood Boulevard, turn to your right and you will see what is a large sound structure and there is a small garden area in front of it. That is where Donald will emerge from the doorway with a can of water.
You can watch closely as Donald waters the plants and at times shows off his allergies by sneezing. And, let’s be honest, Donald is not always following the Disney guidelines of sneezing into one’s elbow. After water the flowers, Donald finds himself attacked by a a couple of bees and goes on a bee hunt.
Where’s Pluto?
He’s quiet. He doesn’t shout. He doesn’t even bark. So, you will need to watch out carefully for pup pal Pluto. You can find him on the balcony above the For the First Time in Forever: A Frozen Sing-Along Celebration theater to the left of the Chinese Theater. There he will wave, make some funny faces and spread some joy.
