Disney’s baby rhino finally has a name
The baby rhino at Disney’s Animal Kingdom that thrilled everyone when its birth was announced in October now has a name.
And Disney has a fun video providing some fun facts on the little fella.
The calf has been achieving some major milestones and should be able to make his debut on the Kilimanjaro Safaris savanna soon where he will join his mom, Kendi, and the rest of the crash (the rhino herd) soon, Disney reports.
Oh, yes, the name. Well, the animal keepers team wanted to make sure the baby rhino’s name had some special significance. They wanted to honor the wildlife rangers who protect rhinos around the world. Rhinos are an endangered species.
Recently rhino ranger Sgt. Mutinda Ndivo with the Big Life Foundation, received a Disney Conservation Hero award for his work to protect rhinos and other wildlife in more than 1.6 million acres of wilderness in East Africa
So, what better way to honor wildlife rangers than call the baby rhino – Ranger.
