Disneyland cancels Annual Passport program, providing refunds

Disneyland is taking the major step of shutting down its Annual Passport program and will provide refunds for those eligible to receive the funds, according to a statement from Ken Potrock, President of Disneyland.

Disneyland has been closed since last March and with COVID-19 pandemic ravaging California it is unknown when the the theme parks would reopen.

Due to the continued uncertainty of the pandemic and limitations around the reopening of our California theme parks, we will be issue appropriate refunds for eligible Disneyland Resort Annual Passports and sunsetting the current program. We are currently development new membership offerings that will utilize consumer insights to deliver choice, flexibility and value of our biggest fans.”

Disneyland and Disney California Adventure closed March 14, 2020, along with other Disney Parks around the world. While all other parks have reopened and in many cases closed again due to the coronavirus, Disneyland and Disney California Adventure were never allowed to reopen. The Downtown Disney District had reopened for shopping and some dining, when allowed.

Disneyland has opened up its Toy Story parking to be used as five COVID-19 vaccine dispensing locations around Orange County. With the current upsurge in COVID-19 cases and deaths in California, there is no telling when Disneyland will reopen.
