New EPCOT fountain debuts today at Walt Disney World
The construction walls were removed overnight from the main entrance area of EPCOT and the new fountain is now fully visible for all welcoming guests and providing a new photo opportunity.
The new entrance area is now complete with new planters and landscaping leading to the fountain, which sits in front of EPCOT’s iconic Spaceship Earth.
The reimagined fountain stands in the same area, the previous fountain was located. “Our design team took special interest in this water feature, as we looked back to the geometry of the original for inspiration while creating some new magic of our own. In the fountain’s center is a brilliant light, a unique liquid-cooled fixture we’ve designed with new capabilities that complement the fountain’s changing colors and will coordinate with new lighting coming to Spaceship Earth and the upcoming World Celebration beyond,” Zach Riddley, Walt Disney World Site Portfolio Executive, Walt Disney Imagineering, wrote on the Disney Parks Blog.

In the center of the fountain are three acrylic pylons, each standing over 16 feet tall and featuring the park’s logo. The vertical design helps draw the eye up toward the sky and Spaceship Earth.
EPCOT is in the middle of a major renovation. In the future it will be unified with four neighborhoods: World Showcase, World Celebration, World Nature and World Discovery.
