Kali River Rapids closing for refurbishment starting in Jan. 2021

Kali River Rapids at Disney’s Animal Kingdom will be closed for refurbishment starting Jan. 3, 2021, according to the Walt Disney World refurbishment calendar.

It is unknown when the ride it will reopen, but it is normal for this attraction and other outdoor water rides at Walt Disney World to be closed at the start of the year for refurbishment during the cooler weather.

The attraction has you drift along fast-moving rapids with gushing waterfalls and bedrock amid the raging current before plummeting down a 20-foot slope.
