‘Yehaa’ Bob Jackson, performers at Polynesian Resort laid off from Disney World

More entertainers at Walt Disney World have have been informed that they will not be returning to the resort on the same day the Walt Disney Company announced massive layoffs in the parks due to the coronavirus.

“Yehaa” Bob Jackson will not be returning to the River Roost Lounge at Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – Riverside, he announced on his social media.

Jackson has been playing the piano and entertaining guests at Disney for over two decades.

“And that how it ends, not with a bang but with a whimper. I’ve just learned my act will not be returning to Disney. I made so many friends over the last 23 years, it was a great time, we had a lot of laughs together. I’ll be continuing my Sunday shows for now. I’ll keep you posted, I’m still digesting all of this,” he wrote.

Entertainers at the Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort have been informed they too have been fired and will not be returning, according to Tikiman’s Unofficial Polynesian Resort Pages.

No specifics of which entertainers and how many have been informed, but it appears these are all of the performers with Disney’s Spirit of Aloha Dinner Show. All of these types of shows have been closed since the reopening due to the safety protocols in place for the coronavirus.

Earlier this week, The Grand Floridian Society Orchestra announced that after 32 years it will no longer be performing at Disney World.

Today, the Walt Disney Company announced it is laying off 28,000 Cast Members in the U.S. as part of its Disney, Parks and Experiences Division.
