It’s Tough to be a Bug closing date announced
It’s Tough to be a Bug!, which opened nearly 27 years ago at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, will close permanently on March 17, 2025, to make way for Zootopia: Better Zoogether! coming in winter 2025. The last performance will take place March 16.
The new show, taking place in The Tree of Life Theater, will bring guests on an adventure through the distinct biomes of Zootopia, just like in the animated film. The show will feature beloved characters including Judy Hopps, Nick Wilde, and their friends, with an all-new story created specifically for the attraction.
It’s Tough to Be a Bug!, based on the 1998 Disney·Pixar film “A Bug’s Life,” first opened with Disney’s Animal Kingdom on April 22, 1998, seven months before the film debuted in theaters.
The show provides a 4-D experience with 3-D glasses as audience members watch a 3-D film and need to dodge flying quills from a tarantula, a harmless spray from a soldier termite and the smell of a putrid “defense stench” from a stink bug.
