Disney moves D23 Expo to 2022, will preview Disney’s 100th anniversary

D23: The Official Disney Fan Club is moving next year’s D23 Expo – The Ultimate Disney Fan Event in Anaheim to 2022, the organization announced today on Twitter.

D23 Expo 2022 will be held Sept. 9-11, 2022 at the Anaheim Convention Center and will provide fans with a first look at the plans for the 100th anniversary of the Walt Disney Company, which was founded on Oct. 16, 1923.

D23 has been making numerous changes to its schedule due to the coronavirus. This fall’s D23 Destination D: Fantastic Worlds event at Walt Disney World was postponed earlier this year until 2021.

The event, originally scheduled for November, was going to honor Disney’s many magical places from the extraordinary to the fantastical. The event was also going to have a special exhibit on the 50th anniversary of the Walt Disney Archives.
