Date of second season debut of ‘The Mandalorian’ announced by Disney+
The second season of the fan favorite Star Wars show “The Mandalorian” will start streaming Oct. 30, 2020, on Disney+, Disney announced.
The first season was a popular and critical hit gaining 15 Emmy nominations, including one for Outstanding Drama Series. The Emmy Awards will take place Sept. 20, 2020.
“Disney+ took a big risk with us on ‘The Mandalorian’ and I can’t thank them enough. The creative brilliance of Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni coupled with the incredible innovations of ILM and Skywalker Sound truly made our first Star Wars live-action series groundbreaking,” Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy has previously said.
While nothing official on the plot has been announced. We can assume that the main theme will be returning The Child (known as Baby Yoda by many) back to his people or at least finding out where he came from.
We also know through casting that some favorite characters will be appearing. Temeura Morrison, will play the notorious bounty hunter Bobba Fett. He has voiced the character and played Jango Fett and various clone warriors.
Katee Sackhoff who voiced the character Bo-Katan Kryze in the animated “Clone Wars” will play the live-action version.
And, Rosario Dawson will portray the fan-favorite Ahsoka Tano, introduced by all in the animated “Star Wars: The Clone Wars” and voiced in that and “Star Wars: Rebels” by Ashley Eckstein
