Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance never opened on Tuesday

Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance failed to open for business on Tuesday at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, the day after it was reported that lighting struck Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge.

While the Boarding Groups window opened at both 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. the attraction did not open for the day.

Cast members have said that Monday night when a major thunderstorm rolled through the area a large lightning strike took place in the vicinity of the attraction.

It is unknown if the ride or any parts of its operation was struck by lighting. Walt Disney World has an extensive lightning protection system with lightning rods place all around the theme parks and resorts.
