Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort getting a Moana-themed makeover

Disney World will be refurbishing parts of the Polynesian Village Resort while it remains closed until summer 2021, the Orlando Sentinel is now reporting.

Earlier today, we reported that the resort will now reopen in summer 2021. It was originally scheduled to reopen on Oct. 4.

During this delay, the Great Ceremonial House and guests rooms will move to a “Pacific Ocean-inspired color palette as well as details, patterns and textures” from Disney’s film “Moana,” the newspaper reports.

“Moana” takes place on the fictional island of Motunui in the Disney’s Moana is set on the fictional island of Motunui, one of the islands of the Polynesia.

While the hotel area of the resort is closed the Disney Vacation Club’s Disney’s Polynesian Villas & Bungalows will stay open.
