Updates on 7 shops, restaurants, experiences coming to Disney Springs
Disney Springs has been going through a phased reopening since May 20, 2020, and during that time Disney has announced two new eateries opening, however, there are still some questions as to the completion of a number of projects already underway.
Here are some updates on the various projects taking place at Disney Springs.
Beatrix. No opening date announced. Beatrix is your neighborhood restaurant, coffeehouse and grab-and-go market featuring healthy food options including vegetarian, gluten-free, and vegan along with fresh-squeezed juice cocktails. Considering restaurants are having difficulty operating now, this project could be delayed for a while.
Ample Hills Creamery. No opening date announced. The ice cream parlor already has a location on the Boardwalk, and is currently being sold to manufacturing company Schmitt Industries after declaring bankruptcy in March due to pre-pandemic financial missteps. Once the sale is finalized we might have a better picture of a timeline for when this would be complete.
M&M’s Store – Sometime in 2020 – The M&M’S experiential store is moving from Orlando to Disney Springs and is on target to open later this year. Guests will be fully immersed into an interactive chocolate experience in this 10,000 square foot store.
Cirque Du Soleil. Possibly, Nov. 5, 2020 – Walt Disney Animation Studios have joined forces with Cirque du Soleil to create a show, Drawn to Life, that combines Disney storytelling and heart with Cirque du Soleil’s signature artistry. It was supposed to open in March and now the company is selling tickets.
Lululemon Store – Opening in 2020 – The upscale athletic apparel company which sells items for yoga, running and training is probably best known for its leggings, though they do also sell apparel for men. Work is continuing fast on the building and the sign has already been placed on the building,
Everglazed Donuts& Cold Brew – TBD – A new donut shop called Everglazed Donuts & Cold Brew will be debuting at Disney Springs at Walt Disney World. No further information was made available on when the store will open or even where this new shop will be located at Disney Springs. It could open in 2020 or early 2021.
Gideon’s Bakehouse – Opening in 2020 – The bakehouse, which has won numerous awards for its cookies, will open its second location at Disney Springs. Gideon’s original location opened in late 2016 at Orlando’s East End Market with one employee and an $800 budget. The Bakehouse quickly gained international recognition for its almost ½-pound, small-batch handmade cookies.
