Disney World delays reopening of hotels, not reopening others

Walt Disney World has updated its reopening schedule of numerous hotels on the resort property and has taken two resort hotels off the reopening schedule completely.

Disney has delayed the reopening of Disney’s Polynesian Village and Disney’s Art of Animation resort from Aug. 12 to Oct. 4 for the Polynesian Village Resort and Nov. 1 for Art of Animation.

While Disney’s Yacht Club will continue to reopen on Aug. 24, the Beach Club Resort will remain closed until further notice. In addition, the BoardWalk Inn, which was supposed reopen on Oct. 1, will also remain closed until further notice.

Please note that all of the Disney Vacation Club properties located at these resorts will remain open. Those who have had reservations for the various properties that have changed reopening dates or have not reopened should check with their travel agent about changing locations.

Disney is not giving an explanation for the change, but the current surge of coronavirus cases in Florida and other parts of the U.S., the tourism and travel industry has been taken severe hits and the demand is extremely low.
