Disney World clarifies mask policy, no eating while walking
Walt Disney World has clarified its face mask policy giving more guidance to what you should do when you have a drink or food in your hand.
According to the updated wording, Disney would rather you not walk through the theme parks or Disney Springs eating or drinking with your face mask down.
Here’s the updated wording: “Face coverings are required for all Guests (ages 2 and up) and Cast Members. Please bring your own face coverings and wear them at all times, except when dining or swimming. You may remove your face covering while actively eating or drinking, but you should be stationary and maintain appropriate physical distancing.”
Reading this closely, it clarifies that you need to be actively eating or drinking. So, walking around with a drink in your hand still means that you should have your mask on when you are not sipping. And if you plan to have a sip, move off to the side, away from others to pull down your mask and drink.
Today, while at Epcot, a couple of Cast Members were seen instructing Guests after purchasing items from the Taste of Epcot International Food & Festival marketplaces to find a nearby table or move to the side away from people before taking their masks off to eat and drink.
