Disney releases the coolest free home activity yet – a Main Street 3D diorama

Disney Parks has just released what could be everyone’s July 4th weekend home activity – recreating Disneyland’s Main Street, U.S.A., complete with parade floats.

Two of the architects and designers from Walt Disney Imagineering Design + Planning Studio have created special pages to print out where all you need are scissors, glue and the ability to fold along dotted lines in specific directions to recreate your Main Street, U.S.A. experience.

“We have always been inspired by the incredible passion of our Disney park fans. Seeing your creativity and shared love for the experiences Imagineers create has really lifted our spirits,” Bob Weis, president of Walt Disney Imagineering, told the Disney Parks Blog.

The Disney Paper Parks – printable activity sheets complete with instructions to create 3D versions of Main Street U.S.A. at Disneyland park, floats from the new “Magic Happens” parade and other Disney parks.

The great thing is that this is being touted as Part 1. So we are assuming that there will be more to come.

This looks like a fun way to really bring the magic home. Disney suggests that fr best results, printing the sheets at their actual size and not scaling them to fit the page is the best way.

It will take 19 pages to print everything out and make sure that the scale is 100%. If you have legal paper it might be a bit easier to print out.

Disney also has a disclaimer when printing them out: By downloading Disney Paper Parks, you acknowledge and agree that these materials are being provided to you for personal, non-commercial use.

Here’s a quick look at what some the pages look like:
