Be on watch for potential tropical storm hitting Florida this weekend

The National Hurricane Center released an advisory this morning for a potential tropical storm that could hit Florida with continuous rain for a couple of days this weekend.

The current predicted path would bring the storm to south Florida Sunday morning, Aug. 2, and then move up central Florida and the Disney World area. This is still early in the forecast according to the Hurricane Center.

The details of the long-range track and intensity forecasts are more uncertain than usual since the system does not have a well-defined center, according to the Hurricane Center. At this point the unnamed storm will produce heavy rains an potentially life threatening flash flood and mudslides across the northern Leeward Islands, the Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico.

Tropical Storm conditions are likely across portions of the Leeward Islands, the Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico Wednesday through Thursday.
