Ample Hills Creamery no longer coming to Disney Springs, leaving BoardWalk

The Brooklyn-based Ample Hills Creamery will not reopen its location at the BoardWalk and will not be opening a store at Disney Springs, according to a report by Attractions Magazine.

The ice cream shop came to Walt Disney World when it opened its shop at Disney’s BoardWalk in 2016. The popular location was to expand to a location at Disney Springs. Ample Hills Creamery went through some financial woes, unrelated to COVID-19, and was sold off to manufacturing company Schmitt Industries.

While the company will reopen some of the stores, a spokesperson told Attractions Magazine that the company’s agreement with Disney ended in January, so its Ample Hills shop will close at the BoardWalk and the Disney Springs location will not open later this year.

Still expected to open by the end of this year at Disney Springs are:

M&M’s Store – The M&M’S experiential store is moving from Orlando to Disney Springs and is on target to open later this year. Guests will be fully immersed into an interactive chocolate experience in this 10,000 square foot store.

Lululemon Store –  The upscale athletic apparel company which sells items for yoga, running and training is probably best known for its leggings, though they do also sell apparel for men. Work is continuing fast on the building and the sign has already been placed on the building,

Everglazed Donuts& Cold Brew – A new donut shop called Everglazed Donuts & Cold Brew will be debuting at Disney Springs at Walt Disney World. No further information was made available on when the store will open or even where this new shop will be located at Disney Springs. It could open in 2020 or early 2021.

Gideon’s Bakehouse – Opening in 2020 – The bakehouse, which has won numerous awards for its cookies, will open its second location at Disney Springs. Gideon’s original location opened in late 2016 at Orlando’s East End Market with one employee and an $800 budget. The Bakehouse quickly gained international recognition for its almost ½-pound, small-batch handmade cookies.
