Tokyo Disneyland, Tokyo DisneySea reopening dates announced for July 1
Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea will be reopening with modified times, social distancing and new health procedures, starting July 1, 2020.
Guests will have their temperature taken prior to admission and will be required to wear masks at all times inside the parks, except when dining. Markings will help maintain the necessary distance in queues, seats, restaurants and benches. There will also be hand sanitizers placed throughout the park.
Tickets will be sold starting June 25, 2020 at 3 p.m.. Until further notice, only guests who have purchased fixed-date tickets online will be allowed to enter. The parks will be open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
The changes taking place at the theme parks are similar to ones that are taking place at other Disney parks around the world including:
- Single rider operations will be suspended until further notice.
- FASTPASS will be suspended until further notice.
- Disney Character Greetings, which involve contact with Guests, will be suspended until further notice.
- Disney Characters will greet Guests by incorporating physical distancing.
- Tables, chairs, counter tops, etc., will be regularly wiped down
- Some tables at restaurants will be made unavailable in order to secure physical distancing.
- Plexiglass barriers will be installed in front of the cash registers in some shops.
- Cast members may be wearing a face shield and gloves at times
- Printed menus will not be available, and guests will be requested to scan codes using their smartphones to check the menu.
- Credit cards or other means of cashless payments will be used for making purchases.
- Entertainment programs at show dining facilities will be suspended until further notice.
