Is this the future of Pin Trading at Disney World?

One of the fun experiences Disney created for cast members and guests to interact is pin trading. The ability for guests to go up to cast members and look at lanyards filled with pins and trade. But when Disney World reopens, things will be a little different.

To maintain social distancing when the Disney Vacation Club Resorts reopen on June 22 and the theme parks reopen on July 11, guests will no longer be able to come up to cast members and look at lanyards, according to Disney.

Instead, pin boards will be available. “We will continue to offer Guests the opportunity to pin trade with Cast Members through the use of pin boards in select locations. Cast pin trading with lanyards will not be available at this time to maintain physical distancing,” according to Disney.

Pin boards are not unusual. Many stores have already done this and if Disney plans to designate areas where the boards will be located, you can expect social distancing to be enforced as well.

  1. I really think Disney is going a little overboard. Don’t get me wrong. I realize this virus was ( is ) bad and I am very happy that Disney is reopening but I just think Disney is going a little overboard. Just my opinion. My wife and i will be there in the next few months and will obey all rules.
