Hong Kong Disneyland prepares for temp checks, social distancing
Hong Kong Disneyland appears to be preparing for the park’s reopening by placing social distancing markers on the ground and erecting temperature check stations, according to photos and video from the Hong Kong Main Street Gazette.
A temperature checkpoint has been set up in the open space off the Mass Transit Railway Disneyland Resort station. In addition, the queuing area around one of the security checkpoint has been adjusted, according to the Hong Kong Main Street Gazette
The photos are similar to ones that started popping up at Shanghai Disneyland a few weeks before Disney announced that park would start its initial reopening phase on May 11.
The Hong Kong Disneyland Hotel has been open with limited operations. It recently held a four-day dry-run of Disney Character meals geared toward social distancing at the Enchanted Garden Restaurant. Disney’s Hollywood Hotel and the Disney Explorers Lodge have started accepting reservations for May 15 and beyond.
However, there is no indication when the theme park would reopen. The parks have been closed since Jan. 26 and when the park reopens it appears it will be following all of the protocols announced for Shanghai Disneyland.
