Disney World, Union reach agreement over health safety measures
Walt Disney World and the Service Trades Council Union that represents 43,000 resort workers have reached an agreement on new safety measures to be implemented.
While both sides have confirmed an agreement was reached, Disney as not provided details, but union representatives have shared a few of the procedures.
Cast Members will get three washable masks and a thermometer upon request. If they present symptoms commonly associated with the virus they can call out sick without violating Disney’s attendance policy. They will also receive training and participate in monthly safety meetings.
Only touchless transactions will be available to guests and plastic barriers will be installed at all cash registers, according to the union.
The agreement comes days before custodians are scheduled to return to Disney Springs for its first phase reopening on May 20, in which only third-party operated establishments will open.
