A look at Epcot’s magic wand during Walt Disney World Millennium Celebration

Walt Disney World’s Millennium Celebration was based primarily in Epcot and like many of the past celebrations it lasted a little over a year.

Kicking off on Oct. 1, 1999, the celebration lasted until Jan. 1, 2001, and included “IllumiNations 2000: Reflections of Earth”. which later remained as Illuminations: Reflections of Earth, a parade called Tapestry of Nations and the magic wand over Spaceship Earth.

The text on the large “Mickey Wand” constructed next to Spaceship Earth was “2000” but later changed in 2001 to “Epcot.” The Epcot signed remained until 2007 when it was taken down for the 25th anniversary of Epcot.
