Woman brings newborn into Animal Kingdom Lodge claiming someone abandoned the baby, report says
A woman walked into the Animal Kingdom Lodge lobby at Disney World early Sunday morning with a newborn baby claiming someone handed her the child outside. However, the child turned out to be hers, according to a report on WFTV.com.
The woman walked into the hotel’s lobby at around 2 a.m. on Sunday and claimed an unknown woman just handed her the newborn, the Orange County Sheriff’s Office told the news outlet.
Reedy Creek Fire Rescue took the child to Celebration Hospital. The newborn is reportedly in good health.
Authorities told WFTV that detectives later determined the woman who brought the baby into the hotel was in fact, the child’s mother. She was taken to a facility “for evaluation and treatment.” The Florida Department of Children and Families is aware of the incident, he said.
