Rosario Dawson to play Ahsoka Tano in ‘The Mandalorian’

Rosario Dawson will be bringing a beloved Star Wars animated character from “The Clone Wars” to “The Mandalorian” – Ahsoka Tano.

Variety is reporting that Dawson will be joining “The Mandalorian” for season two, which is expected to drop on Disney Plus in the fall.

Tano is Anakin Skywalker’s apprentice and appeared in “Star Wars: The Clone Wars” and “Star Wars: Rebels.” Her voice is provided by Ashley Eckstein. This would be the first incarnation of Tano in a live-action show.

The Mandalorian is set five years after the events of “Return of the Jedi” and follows the  Mandalorian bounty hunter Din Djarin, as he protects The Child (Baby Yoda), beyond the reaches of the New Republic and ends with him looking for The Child’s homeworld.

Dawson has a history with another Disney franchise, playing Claire Temple in the Marvel Netflix series, “Daredevil,” “Jessica Jones,” “Luke Cage,” “Iron Fist” and “The Defenders.”
