‘Frozen 2’ coming to Disney+ on Sunday, three months early

For those of us who needed a little pixie dust right about now, Disney has obliged: It is bringing “Frozen 2” to Disney+ this Sunday — more than three months ahead of its original release date.

The bombshell sequel will arrive just as Disney is closing Disney World and its other theme parks around the world in order to help slow the spread of the novel coronavirus.

Disney made the decision to “surpris(e) families with some fun and joy during this challenging period.”

Frozen 2 has captivated audiences around the world through its powerful themes of perseverance and the importance of family, messages that are incredibly relevant during this time, and we are pleased to be able to share this heartwarming story early with our Disney+ subscribers to enjoy at home on any device,” said Bob Chapek, Chief Executive Officer, The Walt Disney Company.

When it arrives Sunday, March 15, the movie will be made available in high definition, with ultra HD video available to Disney+ subscribers on Tuesday, March 17.

Internationally, the movie will be available on Disney+ in Canada, the Netherlands, Australia and New Zealand on Tuesday, March 17.

Disney World and Disneyland are currently scheduled to reopen April 1.

With the kids staying home from school for the next few weeks, thanks to Disney you’re no longer going into the unknown. Instead, you’ll be streaming Frozen 2 over … and over … and over … and over again.
