The 4 new restaurants we are still waiting to open at Disney World
Now that City Works Eatery and Pour House at Disney Springs has opened, we are eagerly awaiting a few more highly-anticipated restaurants and eateries and to open during the remainder of the year.
Progress on the four remaining restaurants are moving along fast and there are two more eateries coming to Disney Springs we want to mention as well.
First, let’s look at the restaurants.
The Regal Eagle Smokehouse: Craft Drafts & Barbecue at the American Adventure in Epcot looks like it is just days away from opening with the roof finally being placed over the outdoor barbecue pit and the front area about complete. It even looks like the sign over the door is finished, but covered up. We hope that there will be an announcement in the coming days over when this will open.
The menu includes a variety of BBQ (after all this is the American Adventure), including a sliced Texas beef brisket sandwich, South Carolina smoked sausage, Kansas City smoked chicken, Memphis dry-run pork ribs and a North Carolina chopped smoke port butt.
This will also be the place for getting your craft beers in the park.
The Space 220 restaurant’s opening date is also around the corner, that is if you listen to the rumor mill. It was originally believed the out-of-this-world restaurant was going to open in February, but now it looks like the it might be the end of March even the beginning of April, according to WDWInfo.com.
The restaurant is located between Mission: Space and Test Track in Epcot and is being run by the Patina Restaurant Group, which operates several other restaurants at Disney World including Tutto Italia and Via Napoli at Epcot and Morimoto Asia at Disney Springs.
It’s called Space 220, because the restaurant is themed as if you are on a restaurant space station 220 miles above the earth. The restaurant will have views all around of space and Earth. When you arrive for your dining you will be transported in a special space elevator to the stars. The menu will feature modern American cuisine and have more than 1,000 bottles of the world’s finest wines and a wide beer selection.
The Roundup Rodeo BBQ Restaurant is a new restaurant coming to Toy Story Land in Hollywood Studios. Another restaurant is desperately needed in this location of the park and hopefully this will have enough seating. The restaurant will be located in the area just right of the large Woody as you enter Toy Story Land. It will feature toys, games and playset and is geared to continue the concept of the fully-immersive experience. No announcement has been made on the menu, but by the name, we can guess the menu will continue with the barbecue trend that is coming to Disney. No date has been announced, other than it is coming 2020.
A new crêperie restaurant will be opening in the summer of 2020 next to Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure and will feature the cuisine of celebrity chef Jérôme Bocuse, the mastermind behind the pavilion’s Chefs de France brasserie. The menu will be inspired by the Brittany region of France and offer table service dining as well as a quick-service stop for guests craving crepes called galettes and sweet crepes.
In addition to those four restaurants, there are two other “snack” places I am looking forward to opening this year.
Ample Hills Creamery, which already has a location on the Boardwalk will be opening up another of its ice cream parlors on the West Side of Disney Springs.
And, the M&M’s Store opening later this year on the West Side of Disney Springs near the NBA Experience. You might say, this is a store, not an eatery, but it sells M&M’s! No date has been announced for when this store will be moving over from its current Orlando location.
