Regal Eagle Smokehouse at Epcot opens today (Feb. 19)
The most patriotic of restaurants, the new Regal Eagle Smokehouse: Craft Drafts & Barbecue, at The American Adventure in Epcot opens today at 11:30 a.m. serving lunch and dinner.
The restaurant’s name comes from Sam Eagle – remember his famous line in MuppetVision 3-D at Hollywood Studios, “A salute to all nations, but mostly America.”
Regal Eagle Smokehouse is the site for “Sam’s Centennial Cook-Off: A Salute to All Cook-Offs but Mostly Barbecue.”
The menu (see the full menu here) celebrates American backyard barbecue and craft beers featuring four special house-recipe sauces:
- Spicy Mop Sauce – inspired by Texas-style “mop”
- Sweet BBQ Sauce – inspired by classic dry rub seasonings
- Vinegar-based Sauce – inspired by North Carolina’s tradition of vinegar and pepper
- Tangy Mustard Sauce – often referred to as “Carolina Gold”
To cook the beef brisket, burgers, chicken, pork, sausage and ribs, the pit master uses techniques from classic barbecue regions to smoke the meat over oak wood.
The restaurant is open from 11:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. and is available for Mobile Ordering.
