Disney Movie Magic show returning to Hollywood Studios in March
The Disney Movie Magic projection show will be returning to Hollywood Studios in Disney World this March replacing The Wonderful World of Animation show.
The last Wonderful World of Animation show is March 12 and Disney Movie Magic returns March 13, 2020. Both shows are projected on to the Chinese Theater.
The change might be due to the opening of Mickey & Minne’s Runaway Railway on March 4. The Wonderful World of Animation incorporate fireworks, which would mean that any ride in the theater would need to be closed for the fireworks. Disney Movie Magic just uses projections, which would allow the ride to continue, or at least finish up before the evening fireworks show.
That part of March will also start becoming busier at the parks as Spring Break begins for kids in Florida, Texas and a number of other states. (See when various states have Spring Break here.) This could mean that hours might be extended from the current closure of 8:30 to later in the evening, especially with popular Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance and the newly opened Mickey& Minnie’s Runaway Railway.
The show features dozens of Disney classics like “Mary Poppins,” “Pirates of the Caribbean,” the Indiana Jones adventures and “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2.” The opening of the new Mickey Mouse ride could lead to a bit of an update in the show as well, but that is pure speculation.
